Legends of War uses a mix of classic MUD rewards and adaptive generated gear. Some objects are authored rewards, some come from corpses, and some are built for you when a mob dies.
This guide covers the player-facing systems:
| Page | Use it for |
|---|---|
| ObjGen | Understanding generated gear, quality tiers, affixes, and adaptive upgrades. |
| Loot Drops | Learning how generated drops are awarded and which commands help you find upgrades. |
| Crafting | Turning unwanted generated items into shards and applying those shards to better bases. |
Quick Start
If you only want the useful habits:
- Keep fighting mobs near your level while leveling. The loot system is tuned to fill gaps and replace weak gear as you progress.
- Use
compare <item>before selling, sacrificing, or disenchanting a possible upgrade. - Use
lootfind armor <slot>orlootfind weapon <type>when you want to hunt for a specific kind of generated drop. - Save interesting base items. A plain generated base can become much stronger through crafting.
- Disenchant magic or rare generated items you do not need. Shards are stored in your ledger and can be reused later.
- Use
craft shards <item>andcraft lookup <item>before enchanting, so you know what fits.
What Can Drop
| Reward type | Where it appears | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Generated armor and weapons | Directly in your inventory | Built from ObjGen bases and affixes when a mob dies. |
| Authored corpse loot | On the corpse | Traditional MUD equipment, objects, gold, and utility items. |
| Unique, set, and misc rewards | System-specific | Separate reward paths from normal generated armor and weapons. |
| Shards | From crafting | Created by disenchanting tracked generated magic or rare items. |
Generated gear is the main leveling and farming upgrade loop. Corpse loot still matters, but the adaptive system is the one trying to understand your weak slots and weapon needs.
